Now What

Now that the Mayor's race is over, I think a lot of people are sitting around wondering what's next.

The Republicans focused on supporting Doherty and it cost them several mayors, a magistrate, and the like.

The Democrats fractured themselves by having two democrats on the ballot and has kind of sent the party into a downward spiral.

So what is the next step?

And what is the fallout for Bill Scranton since his family supported Doherty in the form of a letter to the Republicans of Scranton?

Just curious.

I heard that when Casey vacates the treasurer's position, Doherty wants to be in line for that. He would try to run against Kanjorski, but chances of him taking that seat are slim.

Regardless, Doherty is going to leave Scrantonians in the dust with insurmountable debt and no way to pay it back. His new budget increased payroll again with several new $50,000 positions and numerous raises again. He'll be cutting emergency services and the people in E Mtn will cry 'foul' when they discover they have no close fire dept. Oh well, Doherty got what he wanted. It is a no win situation, but money will usually buy any election.

And now, we have to pay again through the sewer debacle. Possible 5 million payback through breach of contract. Doherty has a propensity for that doesn't he?

I think he is still heading for a problem with questionable financial dealings, and I'm hoping the citizens supply the feds with enough information to indict him. Time will tell.
