How much do you want to bet not a single legislator from SWPA will pay the ultimate price for their vote? Of the three Republicans who voted for the raise, do you really think Mustio, Maher or Stevenson will lose next year? Furthermore, of those who voted no, how many will turn the money away? Maybe Daryl will, but time will tell.
It is sad that we live in a society where there is little or no accountability expected from our elected officials.
I agree. Our "Representatives" know that the public has a short memory and is fairly docile. While I was once in that group, to quote a phrase "NOTANYMORE ! !"
For ego-maniacs like our elected officials are, the "ultimate price" is losing elected office. Seriously, they get their sense of self-worth by being elected officials. It becomes their identity. These people are elitists.
These guys get gifts showered on them daily. I challenge anyone to go stand outside gate c, this Sunday, of the stadium we are paying for and watch how many elected officials are going in there with their free tickets.
