After ten terms, State Rep. Dennis Leh is not seeking re-election. Republicans Bill Reed and Joe Karpkinski, as well as Democrat David Kessler are running. This district (the 130th) is even tougher for a Democrat than Sheila Miller's.
Alas, after a mere week, Leh has changed his mind! He had planned to retire out of frustration with the legislature's inability to cut school property taxes. Leh told about 60 members of the Daniel Boone Taxpayers Association that he changed his mind after constituents and colleagues asked him to reconsider. “I have to run,” the 60-year-old Leh told the association's meeting in Michael's Diner in Amity. “I think I owe it to you people.”
