I heard that Joe Pilchesky was served with a subpoena to produce all the IP addresses of the people who post on his message board. In addition, I heard that all the posters will have to give depositions in court!!!!!! Joe sold us out.

There is worse being said on bcvoice.com in Binghamton about the local political asses than what is being said on here. Why bcvoice is downright defaming but the law is on the boards side and the owners brothers are lawyers so they know all about internet laws.
I could see a subpoena if someone threatened someones life but I don't see anything like that here not unless the owner sold out to the local politicos in some way, which I hope is not the case.
This country was founded on Free Speech principals and by God you PA'ers are all sitting in the Great State of Liberty where Ben Franklin and others signed the Declaration of Independence.
By the way we got rid of one jackass from the Republican Party who as mayor for over 12 years ruined Binghamton but now we have party line change and the Dems have won the mayoral seat with their candidate who has an interesting backround indeed!
We are all doomed here in Binghamton as the New Mayor takes whats left of Binghamton into the gutter.
The good old boys will accomplish a complete takeover of area businesses or whats left of them and the middle class poor will become destitute under this new regime.
What the Scrantonians need is this good old board, a bit of advertizing and a place to debate here. I see not many come here but I hope you all keep it up and running.
If your politicians can't take the heat and flack they get in these posts too damn bad. They are public figures. They better get use to it.
The most active message board is found on www.dohertydeceit.com which addresses the corruption and misconduct of our public officials here in Scranton, and on the state level. That is the message board referred to in the above post. Please feel free to visit our board and register if you wish. We have posters from as far away as Erie, PA. You are close enough to be considered regional to us.
Thanks Joanne and I will pop over to that board. Was there anything in The Scranton Times about our new Mayor Matt Ryan sending a group to Scranton to chat it up with your mayor. It seems our new mayor wants to pattern Binghamton after Scranton and the " economic prosperity," that your mayor has bestowed upon you folks down there. It almost sounds as if Ryan will be working closely with Doherty to revitalize Binghamton like Doherty " revitalized" Scranton.
A lot of us in Binghamton will be watching the developing relationship between your mayor and our new mayor.

I have not read anything about it. If your mayor has a questionable reputation, the Scranton Times would not publish anything. They are staunch supporters of our mayor and do not print information that is derogatory to him or his administration.
Be aware, though, and become educated with whom your mayor associates. Mayor Doherty's good friend and advisor is Rick Filippi from Erie, PA who recently was indicted for fraudulent land deals...the same type of conduct we suspect our mayor of engaging in. Our mayor has also sold city assets which, by law, cannot be sold. He got away with it because none of the citizens were educated in the legality of such deals; two city parks. The one park, the South Side Complex, is still being litigated in court here in Scranton, and my husband is the plaintiff against the city, and the deal has not been finalized. The second park, our municipal golf course which was a money making asset for the city and only a few years from being completely paid for, was sold in 2003, but there is currently litigation on that one also...my husband is the plaintiff.
Watch out for your city assets. Some can legally be sold, and some cannot.
We welcome you to our board on www.dohertydeceit.com. I'm sure you will learn alot to help you in your pursuit of open and honest government in Bingotown; and I'm sure we can learn alot from you.
Joanne, did you read the papers, Gary Dumbillio lost the election by a landslide, due largely to you and your husband's hateful webpage and so-called rag of a newspaper that you published and littered the city with days before the election. The people of Scranton spoke, they voted and your candidate LOST, get over it. If you want to do something for the city why don't you run for office.
