Whomever wins the election has to abide by the recovery plan, so that means no freebies for fire and police unions. All they want is a negotiated contract.

Doherty created his own problems and the people at council have a right to speak about them. Just think, if he was a hands on mayor and took care of the issues that are brought forth at council, there wouldn't be so many complainers. Besides, he has never addressed any of the questions brought up by speakers about his misconduct. He can't because he doesn't have any answers. He doesn't have any backbone either. But he has no problem sending his underlings to the slaughter house. Keeler, Hickey, Fiorini, Burke, O'Brien (just a kid, but Doherty didn't care) all showed up to argue on behalf of the mayor...but the King himself never showed his face. Neither did he take advantage of his political connections with the paper to rebut or explain any of his policies or spending habits.
