Sinnott's opening page proclaims this; "I am running on a platform that emphasizes economic reform and efficient budgeting to ease the burden on Erie taxpayers."
He advertises himself as a man of action. However, nowhere on his poor website can I find his platform substantiated, let alone the platform itself outside of one sentence - no ideas, no solutions and no projected programs. He doesn't appear to be too much of a man of action if he can't even provide information on his own platform, policies or ideas.
Speaking of "economic efficiencies", Sinnott has had a crack at promoting tax saving opportunities for a year and a half and has nothing to show for it (fire garage consolidation - killed, payroll savings - killed, low interest debt refinancing - killed, employee layoff and job outsourcing - killed). Again, our man of action shows that he is a man of inaction. Although, I have heard that when it comes to an opportunity at a city pension grab he was full of action and jumped on the opportunity. So much for economic efficiencies and taxpayer consideration.
Joe's website is pathetic, but so is Joe. How will he create an efficient budget? Lay off some managers like he has been saying? I bet Sinnott could fire all non police and fire people at city hall and still have a budget mess.
On a different note, is Joe Sinnott a crook in the making?. Mayor Murphy in Pittsburgh is being investigated by the FBI for promising the fire union a sweetheart deal in exchange for their support in the last mayoral election. Murphy won with just enough votes to make it look like the fire union support swung the victory his way. Bag of donuts Sinnott is promising the same thing here in Erie. The fire union is not supporting this guy so that he can close fire houses and reduce pay and benefits.
I guarantee that if Sinnott somehow squeaks out a victory (and maybe learns how to string words into a sentence) that his first mayoral duty will be a hefty tax raise to pay off all of his supporters. Foundation for this tax raise is currently being laid with the ridiculuous comments about a $6 million, $11 million and / or $16 million (you pick the number, since Sinnott can't) budget deficit. Sinnott will bury the pay and perk increases in the tax increase needed to address this manufactured deficit. Scare tactics and nonsense. This fellow couldn't win an election to be class clown.
Who's the plant manager(s) of the manufactured deficit?
The shortfall is the product of crappy budgeting...outright lies about revenue streams...a million dollars from the municipalities! NEVER HAPPEND...WAS NEVER GONNA HAPPEN!!
Both Filippi and Council are responsible for this mess!
